Professor Asiyati Chiweza is the Director General of the Malawi School of Government. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy from Curtin University, Western Australia (2007), focusing on her thesis titled "Democracy, Decentralization, and Development in Malawi." Additionally, she obtained a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Dalhousie University, Canada (1995), and a Bachelor of Social Sciences Degree majoring in Economics from the University of Malawi (1988).
From 2008 to 2010, she headed the Department of Political and Administrative Studies and served as the Coordinator of the MA program in Political Science from 2008 to 2012. Dr. Chiweza boasts over 23 years of experience in university lecturing, research, and facilitating meetings, workshops, and training programs, along with more than 17 years of local and international consulting experience.
Dr. Chiweza has also served as an international expert on decentralization and local governance, assessing processes in countries like Timor Leste and Laos under the auspices of UNCDF, UNDP, and USAID. She has undertaken consultancy roles within Malawi, commissioned by both government and organizations, to assess the decentralization process and develop improvement roadmaps.
Furthermore, Dr. Chiweza has contributed to numerous social accountability projects, working with organizations such as UNICEF, National Democratic Institute, and DFIF funded Tilitonse Governance Fund. She has also conducted gender-related work, including assessments and audits for different projects and organizations.
Her expertise extends to facilitating meetings and conferences, conducting national evaluations, and engaging with diverse stakeholders at various levels. Dr. Chiweza possesses strong research skills, excellent communication abilities, and analytical prowess, making her a valuable asset in governance and development

Sithembire Dunda is an accomplished Administration, Human Resources,
Procurement and Facilities management professional with over 16 years of work
experience in Education and Health sector. He is a holder of a Master of Business
Administration (MBA), BA, Public Administration, & a Diploma in Procurement
and Supply. He is a Certified Facilities Manager and a Certified Human
Resources Professional and a full member of the Malawi Institute of
Procurement and Supply (MIPS) and Institute of People Management Malawi
(IPMM). “MSG staff should expect an Administration directorate where
professionalism meets precision.”

Steve Sharra joins the MSG as Director of Academic Affairs, having
previously served as Senior Strategic and Technical Communications
Advisor, Associate Professor, Dean, and Director of Research in various
organisations and institutions. He has previously taught at UNICAF
University, Catholic University of Malawi, University of Botswana and
Michigan State University. He holds Ph.D. and MA degrees, and a teaching
certificate. “I look forward to being part of the process to build capacity for
Malawi’s development.”

Christine Siame holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Africa University, Zimbabwe, Bachelor’s in commerce (Accountancy) and Diploma in Business Administration from University of Malawi, the Polytechnic. Additionally, she has a professional ACCA certificate in International Public Sector Accounting Standards. Her work experience both locally and internationally in academia, government, and the private sector spans over twenty years. “I aspire to inspire ethical global leadership with a strong sense of responsibility for societal impact.”

Dr. Devin Zanda Nkhoma is a Chartered Accountant
and Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified
Accountants (ACCA) and the Institute of Chartered
Accountants in Malawi (ICAM). He also holds an MBA
in Finance from the UK and a PhD in Accounting and
Finance. He has worked extensively in Europe, the
Middle East, and Africa, holding managerial positions
in commercial and academic institutions.
